At today’s workshop on citizen journalism, several young people from Gostivar had the opportunity to learn about citizen journalism and to see how in a more different and more practical way they can activate themselves in the fight for the truth and for improving the media space.
CIVIL – Center for Freedom through a dialogue with the participants at the workshop held in Gostivar, managed to bring citizen journalism closer to them. Through practical examples that have caused social and political changes, young people from Gostivar had the opportunity to hear and discuss with CIVIL’s representatives how with their own activity they can have an influence at the local and national level with their active participation.
Following the theoretical part, participants will also have an opportunity for practical work in Gostivar, and for applying the technological benefits in preparing video and photo stories, along with surveys on current local problems.
Interested active citizens have at their disposal resources for training in the area of citizen journalism, such as the website Civic Lenses and the Facebook page Citizen journalists of Macedonia.
The workshop is part of the Civic Lenses project and is supported by National Endowment for Democracy.
