There is a mini landfill in the old part of Veles, that is, in the city market. But the biggest tragedy is that right next to it there is a kindergarten in which there are about three hundred children.
Residents that live there say that the smell is unbearable, especially in the summer days.
“The people from the market make garbage, while the machines cannot enter to clean it. In almost every house there is one or two people sick of jaundice because of the stench and filthiness”, says one citizen from Veles.
Residents add that during an election campaign they are promised that the problem with the landfill will be solved, but that once the elections end, everyone forgets about the promises.
