Representatives of civil society organizations, young journalists, lawyers and interested citizens were all part of the seminar on citizen journalism in Strumica, which was organized by CIVIL – Center for Freedom.
How citizen journalism has changed the world and how it can contribute to transparent and accountable processes in the communities, municipalities and in the entire society? – were just some of the questions which CIVIL’s team tried to answer at this dynamic and interactive seminar. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the Civic Lenses project and to acquire practical knowledge in the area of journalism, media literacy and citizen participation.
Participant at the Kumanovo seminar shared information and experiences about the life and challenges in this municipality, which can serve as an example for cohabitation and cooperation, but also as a municipality in which discrimination and violence are still present.
Following this seminar, CIVIL is expecting more great stories from Strumica that will contribute towards positive changes and disclosure of bad practices in the institutions.
