With a renovated school, students still using latrine toilet

Following a report from a citizen journalist from the village of Drvosh, who wanted to remain anonymous, the team of CIVIL Media recorded a video and a photography that reflect the true picture of the hygienic conditions in the “Goce Delchev” primary school, in the 21st century.

According to the information from the citizen journalist, although part of the school has been renovated several years ago, the students are still attending classes in the old premises and are using the old latrine toilet without doors, which is in a ruined state and without a septic tank.

One of the employees in the school also confirmed this information for CIVIL Media, who did not want to speak in front of the camera.

As the citizen journalist reports, in addition to the toilet being harmful to the children’s health, the children can also seriously injure themselves when using it.

The new renovated part of the school is used only as a polling station during an election period. The village Drvosh is in the Municipality of Bosilovo.

On Sunday, the residents of Drvosh voted in the Referendum on whether they are for or against the Ilovica mine, precisely in the new part of the school. Today the students are beginning their first school day in the old ruined part of the school.
