CIVIL’s intensive and dynamic seminars at the start of the new year

CIVIL is entering the new year of 2020 with the usual, incredibly intense pace of activities. At the very beginning of the year, among the numerous activities, we highlight the always interesting seminars immensely dedicated to transparency and responsible political processes that encourage activism, citizen participation and citizen journalism.

CIVIL’s seminars, which are part of the “Civic Lenses” project, provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about the basics of human rights, as well as to acquire skills in monitoring and journalist reporting. With active participation and improvement of skills, everyone can contribute to transparency and responsibility in the political processes.

CIVIL’s seminars are an excellent opportunity for establishing cooperation with CIVIL, and ahead of the election processes, they are the most important phase in becoming part of the organization’s monitoring teams.

CIVIL, like in all of the previous election processes since 2008, will be monitoring the implementation of the early parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12 as well. If you would like to become a candidate for the monitoring team, all you need to do is fill out the application form for participating in one of the seminars that CIVIL will be organizing in the next period.

The first seminar in 2020 will be held on January 25, in Gostivar, with citizens from the Polog planning region having the right to participate.

The second seminar will be held on February 8, in Strumica, and this seminar is intended for the citizens of the South-East planning region.

Citizens from the municipalities of Strumica, Vasilevo, Bosilevo, Novo Selo, Konce, Valandovo, Dojran, Bogdanci and Gevgelia will have the right to participate in the seminar in Strumica.

In a period of political turmoil, when there are increasingly more protests and hate speech in the country, citizen journalists are the ones who can contribute to preserving peace and strengthening the democratic processes. As the CIVILians say:

Citizen journalists are carriers of the journalism that reports without fear and without favours.

CIVIL calls on all citizens, as well as recent participants and collaborators at the seminars on citizen journalism, and all those who are interested in monitoring the election processes, to photograph, record and note.

The change is in your hands! – calls CIVIL.

Through citizen journalism, citizens have the opportunity to be controllers of the work of the state and local officials and institutions and to pressure them to work according to the laws, transparently and responsibly.
